VIVA
A short experimental film by Penelope Gil
Directed by Cheryl Dunn
Music by Melissa Auf Der Maur
A lonely woman called VIVA sits restlessly in a house by herself. She collapses on her bed and loses herself in projected memories. A visiting spirit tries to awaken her with touch and implores her to “be love”. Yielding to his voice, she invokes the violet flame and embarks on a vision quest to overcome her insecurities and fears.
VIVA was selected and premiered at the Marfa Film Festival 2013.
